Big & Clarke Island
There may be hundreds of islands in Nova Scotia but there are none like these ! Clarke Island (101 ac) and Big Island ( 25 ac) and the connecting arm in between (15 ac) just 35 km away from downtown Halifax and 12 km from historic Peggy's cove in the protected waters of Blind Bay . Though just outside of Halifax this is an escape from it all. Nature has blessed this area with sandy beaches, rugged shorelines and fresh breezes. The islands are surrounded by deep water. Fishing, boating is nothing but spectacular. The area between Big Island and Clarke Island is a deep mooring, safe haven to boats in the worst of storms. The multitude of small islands in Blind Bay makes these waters perfect for kayaking and canoeing. You will not find anything like that anywhere else !
